It will take time for flowers to grow,
ReplyDeleteFor spring to jump up from under the snow
For women and men all to forgive
To hope, dream, and love and just start to live
It will take time for children to know
That if we unite, ideas will flow,
Just people together, united we stand
By working together, and giving a hand
It will take time for the red rose to show
Running straight into your hearts, with love in tow
People helping people, faces filled with glee
And it will take time for people to see,
Why the world needs a you, and the world needs a me.
This poem relates to the novel The Outsiders because it centers around the idea of people working together, which is what the Greasers and the Socs need to do if they ever want to end their feud, between each other. In order to make all of their lives better, they have to forget their differences and unite together. “Just people together, united we stand.” This line could mean that if the Greasers and the Socs weren’t Greasers and Socs and they were just people, everybody would be happier, and Johnny and Ponyboy wouldn’t get beat up. If they were united, the whole world would be better, and they would be friends.

Stick Together
ReplyDeleteIn some of the toughest times, unity is what we need
With unity we will succeed
Stick Together
When a crisis is brought our way
Do not avoid it for another day
Stand together and stand up tall
We will make sure we will never fall
Let’s remember it is not I or you who will succeed, it is us, you and me
It can be us as a country, as a community
Stick Together
This poem relates to the book “The Outsiders” because if the Greasers and Soc’s stand together, their community could be a better place. The poems message is one that encourages people to stand together in the toughest times - “Stand together and stand up tall” line 7. In the novel, the Greasers and Soc’s don’t get along and sometimes it is a problem in the community. If the Greasers and Soc’s put their differences aside, they can unite as one. Therefore, the relationship with the poem and novel emits a positive feeling.

Poem: Our Journeys
ReplyDeleteWe will make change today.
The day comes when the future is clear
Powers of women and men unite,
Make the change and let there be freedom.
You may feel frustration
And want to yell “we can’t”,
But think about the powers of
The “wills and cans” instead.
Now you’ll feel the spirit bubbling
Like soda recently shaken,
Take a leap and charge forward
Right toward the problem.
You’ll be carried upon a path
That seeks for prosperity and hope,
For peace and for ideals
This path will take you places.
You are creating this path
The path going in a new direction
We will make change today.
This poem relates to The Outsiders because within the gang, there is a feeling of no self confidence. They all need to believe in the “wills and cans” so that they can change the separation between the greasers and the Socs. They need to find a new path that will lead them to hope and peace. They all feel like outsiders and this needs to change. Once they get going with the feeling of change they will know that they can succeed. This is what the moral message of my poem is: if you believe in yourself and others around you, you can accomplish anything.

Everyone
My poem can relate to the novel “The Outsiders” because it is related to, and is named, PERSEVERANCE. In the novel, Johnny shows us that he can do all things in the poem.
He shows us that he has caring in Chapter 2, when he sticks up for Cherry Valance. Ponyboy also shows us that he can care for others when, in chapter 3, he tells Johnny that he could come over to his house if he feels cold. That is how my poem can relate our novel.
They lie at Arlington.
ReplyDeleteThe heroes that saved a nation.
They made a sacrifice for our sake.
They fought for our sake.
They fell with their faces to the foe for our sake.
They brought a nation out of its darkest hours.
And now others with the same spirit of servitude.
Shall bring it out again.
This theme of sacrifice relates to our novel because Darry sacrificed his education and his last chance of getting out of Greaserhood so that Ponyboy would have a chance to finally get out of the circle of perpatual Greaserhood.
Joe the Joseph man
As darkness creeps on over
ReplyDeleteThe last days end,
And spirits break away
Seeking other nations
Words say greater things
Are to come upon us
But we have sweared an oath
That life will steer its path
But generations change
And history had hope
For we remember small things
Do not ever need to matter
And was it not our father
Who told us to have hope?
And to meet and greet courage
Until the very end?
Today we stand, tall and strong
The nation will find peace
And endure the winter winds
That will never make us cease
Every generation
And every common person
Will end the fate of crisis
And embrace the word:
Hope
I believe that my poem relates to "The Outsiders" because the poem is talking about never giving up and having hope. In The Outsiders, Johnny has hope about living in a place without Greasers and Socs and not having to be afraid all of the time. He also tries not to give up hope, even though his parents don't get along and don't care about him. My poem could also relate to Ponyboy. Although Ponyboy feels as though Darry doesn't love him, Ponyboy doesn't give up because Darry is strict with him. Lastly, my poem could relate to Darry because he has high hopes for Ponyboy to go to school and get good grades (even though he doesn't show it.
The moral of my poem is to always have hope and never give up.

P.S. Everybody's poems are really encouraging and nicely written!
It is time for change
ReplyDeleteThe road the unfolds before us
It is time for change, we must
One book closes and another one opens
It is time for change, we must
When the day is cold stand up and be warm
It is time for change, we must
when the leaves on the trees turn red
It is time for change, we must
Someday that road will end
The road that unfolds before us
My poem relates to the novel"The Outsider"because my poem represents Change and in the novel thats what we should be seeing. For example, The socs(which are the rich, mean and spoiled kids) beat up the greasers(which are the poor and hoodlum kinda guys that get into fights for fun)because of their clothes or how they dress. The Socs also hate the greasers are because they act different.

It takes courage to speak truth,
ReplyDeleteWhen your in trouble,
Courage is the strength to stand up,
When it's easier to fall down,
It is a firefighter's job to storm a stairway filled with smoke,
The courage of heart,
The courage of soul,
We need,
To accomplish our goals,
If you don't get back up when you fall down,
The door to failure opens,
And you'll stride out,
This relates to our book " The Outsiders," because the Greasers in the book also need to stand up to the Socs, who are like bullies to them. The Greasers need to stand up to the bullies and tell them to stop in stead of fighting with them. If the Greasers don't stand back up when the Socs pick on them they will fail in life and will always be afraid of the Socs.

ReplyDeleteHope
ReplyDeleteHoping that we will succeed
Driving to reach a common goal
We don’t need your sympathy
We need to work together as a hole.
We have power, our country is strong
Being racist is long gone
We have waited for this for so long
We will flourish, day till dawn
We will put aside the current hole
Planting a brand new seed
Trying to reach a common goal
Hoping that we’ll succeed

I just want to say I cant do this now today because I never got the Obama Speech

An Ever Shining Candle
ReplyDeleteA nation of change
Men old and men new
Stand together in trouble
Their hearts remain true
All carry a burden
Many go without jobs
People’s spirits broken
The crisis brings sobs
With courage and power
We open our minds
We see light in the darkness
Our future we find
Generations after change
Through history and pain
We unite as a nation
The peace washes like rain
Yet the journeys not over
It has merely begun
We will stick with our duties
Till are heartache is done
A nation of change
Men old and men new
Stand together in trouble
Their hearts remain true
This poem relates to the novel because the message is working hard for a better environment. The ‘Greasers’ and ‘Soc’s’ are in conflict in our novel, and they don’t seem to agree about many obstacles in their way. An example of the conflicts is when Ponyboy is beat up by the ‘Soc’s’. This act of violence is pointless, and it shows the lack of care for one another. If these gangs, and the people in our world, would learn to co-operate and respect one another, we would live a healthier and more peaceful world.

BARACK OBAMA POEM
ReplyDeleteUnity will be created
All around the world
Racism is outdated
I heard it and I hurled
Having enemies is a vex
Like an evil witch’s hex
So don’t live on the inside
But think on the outside
So please be a hero
Heroes are glad
Don’t be zero
Zeroes are bad
I think that the theme of my poem relates to the outsiders because it shows that to have world peace or even to live on this earth we need unity and in the outsiders, the gang needs to have unity to survive. The gang has some disputes, but mostly they are all friends. They should try to stay together for as long as they can because a loner greaser would not live. It would be very dangerous for a greaser to be alone because they would get jumped easily and often. That is what I think Barack Obama’s speech’s message.
JACK THE JACK MAN
What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility
ReplyDeleteAs we consider the road that unfolds before us, we remember with humble gratitude those brave Americans who, at this very hour, patrol far-off deserts and distant mountains this is our gift of freedom is the price and the promise of citizenship, and as our true heroes lie in Arlington and we frolic in the harsh cold winter winds
The way this poem relates to our story is that it says "what is required of us" When Johnny stood up to Dally he felt a new era of responsibilities and that is the same as it says in the poem Johnny has to be someone who will stand up to a bully and he has proved he is able to carry out his duties.
ReplyDeleteADAM. T
Hey Jack your poem and paragraph were awesome mkeep it up
ReplyDeleteBrave Americans
ReplyDeleteBrave Americans are the saviours of our planet
they fight in the
desert of evil so
that Americans can live happy
we honour them not because they are the guardians of freedom, liberty, peace and democracy because they embody the soul of a service a willingness to find
a better meaning than them selves
They are the kings of peace
For those about to america i salute you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every man and woman in the nation
ReplyDeleteMust go to the giving station
We can stand together
Never break forever
We will stand tall and will not break
We will stand together for goodness sake
We will hold the sam from generations down
No matter how many pounds
We have to stop giving less
Cause we don't want to be pests
Lets stay strong
To sing that song
This realates to the book "The Outsiders" because in the commuinty with the greasers and the Socs they all need to stand together. In my peom it is trying to get them to collied and be together. If they are together than thier commuinty is strong with no break possible. Never give up even when times are bad you can still be strong. Everyone will be together when the time is right. Everyone needs to give to anyone even someone off the street not only your family.

Change is like the road that goes curved
ReplyDeleteMany get mad when it swerved
Many people don’t like change
But many people manage
Many people like to change
Like becoming a well rounded mage
Many people don’t like change
But many people manage
Change is like a long snake
It likes to wind and roam and shake
Many people don’t like change
But many people manage
Change is like a well tuned bike
Or like a very long range hike
Many people don’t like change
But many people manage
It is like I nice sunny day
It is not so very gray
Many people don’t like change
But many people manage
It has many pros and cons
It makes people wont to kick a swan
Many people don’t like change
But many people manage
